I hope that all of you are enjoying a day without classes, whether you think of it as Columbus Day, Indigenous People’s Day/Día de la raza (if you’re from the south), or Thanksgiving (if you’re from the north). Whatever the reason, it is always good to take a moment to breathe and reflect.
In that spirit, I invite you to join the Lutheran-Episcopal Ministry for worship on Wednesday at 5:15 in the Main Dining Room of W11. After worship, we’ll move across the hallway to the Community Room for dinner and conversation. It will be fantastic, so you should totz come.
Looking ahead to next week, we will not be having our regular Eucharist service. Instead, we will be opening our space for a service of blessing with the LGBTQ community and Allies in honor of National Coming Out [Insert Timeframe Here]. It will be a service of song and celebration for the many and wondrous ways human gender and sexuality are expressed. This was a powerful service for those involved last year. I and the chaplains want to thank you for being willing to explicitly carve out time to walk alongside people who may have been marginalized in their prior religious communities. Everyone is welcome to participate in the service; that includes those of us who consider LEM our spiritual community.
