Bowling! Legally Blonde!

November 10, 2014

Our worship space feels a little different now that it’s starting to get dark before we begin, but it’s still cozy. And W11 is generally extra warm. Be in the main dining room of W11 at 5:15 on Wednesday to soak up the coziness. We’ll have dinner in the community room next door around 6:30. You may just want to curl up and go to sleep right there.

Looking ahead, we would love to have musically inclined people to join in making a joyful sound during this year’s Lessons and Carols service. The service will be on December 10th, which is the last day of classes. Since the Chapel is under repair, we will have the service in Lobby 10. You will want to perform since the acoustics will be aMAZing. Rachel, our pianiste extraordinaire, is coordinating the musical offerings. If you would like to sing in a group (or solo?), play an instrument, or add a cow bell to the service, Rachel would like to know. I don’t know how she would handle death metal guitar shredding, but feel free to ask!

Next week: The Young Adult group at University Lutheran has invited us to go bowling with them at Socco’s Bowl-Haven in Davis Square. Socco’s is a Somerville institution where you can play candle-pin bowling while you eat flatbread pizza. New England’s candle-pin bowling is totally different from the ten-pin bowling the rest of the country enjoys. It’s a lot of fun because the tiny ball seems to go everywhere except where I thought it would. Be there at 8 PM on Friday, November 14th.

The following week: Legally Blond on campus. On Saturday, November 21st, we are going to learn how to be both brilliant and beautiful as we support Christina. You can reserve tickets on-line. Bring flowers to throw during the curtain calls, because there WILL be curtain calls. Lots of them.
